I presented my photos, which were made in my room (a video is added just above). My theme was man-made and unusual perspectives. I tried to find new points of view, look at new angles in my familiar environment.
I focused on the techniques such as symmetrical composition, rule of thirds, contrast, low exposure and different angles.
It was my first presentation in front of my new classmates. I didn't feel comfortable. My speech was quite chaotic and I forgot to tell my peers about some important points of my project. I don't content with my public performance, therefore next time I would like to be more prepared and organised.
However, the guys were supportive and kind of involvement that made me not so frustrated. They weren't critical at all. We tried to focus on what we liked about the photos.
The experience was extremely impressive. I felt unity a spirit of creativity. We are all work in the same field, share opinions, give feedback and inspire each other. Actually, about the last what I mentioned, two peers indeed inspired me to further develop the project. They tried to make their photos more symbolical and connected their ideas to the stories, which added charm and brought interest to the shots.
On that point, I elaborated on the concept of my works creating a mind map using Popplet.
The photos of a peer I was the most astonished by:
The photos are special. You can feel an atmosphere of an old town. It is authentic and even I can say romantic. Qian presented to us a lot of details, she brilliantly conveyed a mood of emptiness, contemplation and probably peace. I feel a lot looking at the photos. They are like a pleasant aftertaste of an old good Japanese movie, which consists of ideal delicate shots.
These photos are my favourite because they contain a lot of emotions and states, they make you feel something. They immerse the viewer into another world. That is what art means.
EDITING MY WEEK 2 BLOG POST AND THE APPEARANCE OF THE SITE:
1) I have removed unnecessary templates.
2) I have expanded on the idea, which I finished after I got inspired on the group critique.
